Shrike Territory

Iron shrikes are large ambush hunters that impale prey from above and stockpile them on the gates of decrepit castles and forts, ruthlessly attacking anything that wanders into their territory. They have developed secondary inner jaws that enclose around their eyes to protect them during hunts. Though this leaves them blind, they also have thermal sensors to locate prey and keep track of their surroundings while eating.

Due to their aggressive nature and proclivity for human flesh, specialized shrike hunters are sent to slay them, but even they rarely return unscathed.
